In addition, people who are overweight, have a large neck circumference, a small jaw, or poor lifestyle habits are more likely to develop sleep apnea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any of the following characteristics or symptoms, you may be at high risk for sleep apnea! We recommend that you consult a sleep specialist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Middle-aged men and postmenopausal women<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overweight (BMI &gt; 28)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excessively large neck circumference (men &gt; 43cm, women &gt; 38cm)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receding or small jaw<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short neck<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thick tongue
