How to adapt to a positive pressure respirator more quickly

If you have no prior experience using a ventilator, you may find it difficult to get used to at first. If you are unable to wear it for extended periods while sleeping, it may severely impact the effectiveness of the device. Therefore, we are providing some methods to help you get started using a ventilator more quickly.

Why might someone not be able to wear a positron emission tom (PEP) CPAP machine? It's actually quite easy to understand. In the past, we didn't use machines or wore masks while sleeping, so using a PEP machine requires a complete change in habits. Such a significant adjustment in sleep patterns naturally takes time to adapt. Especially when using a CPAP machine, some individuals may feel stuffy or have a foreign body sensation, while others may not be able to adapt to the airflow. These are all reasons why it might be difficult to wear the machine. Therefore, if you experience any of the following, don't worry too much.

Feeling like there's something in my body

Sleep habits are formed over a long period of time, so when using a respirator, we need to give our bodies more time to adapt. Of course, the adaptation time varies from person to person. If you still cannot adapt after wearing it for a while, you may consider changing the mask or the style of mask.

It feels stuffy when I wear it.

You can ask the service staff for professional advice. Perhaps the current mask isn't quite right for you, or it might be related to the temperature and humidity you're currently using. Adjusting the temperature and humidity might make it more comfortable to wear.

Breathing is difficult while wearing a respirator

Difficulty breathing may be due to unfamiliarity with the device or related to the settings of the positive pressure respirator. You can contact service personnel to see if adjusting the settings can help.

Unable to keep the ventilator on, it falls off during sleep.

If the device falls off on its own during use, preventing you from using it for the entire duration of your sleep, there's no need to worry too much. Using a CPAP machine isn't something you do overnight. While interrupting use during sleep is less effective, the more important thing is to continuously improve the usage time. Just keep using it and gradually increase the usage duration.
